曾以「震撼教育」拿下奧斯卡影帝的丹佐華盛頓，今年又以「機密真相」入圍奧斯卡最佳男主角。「機」片中丹佐飾演一位技術高超的客機飛行機師，演什麼、像什麼的他，拍片前特別要求接受正式訓練，劇組安排他跟著一位飛機駕駛進入飛行模擬器，訓練好幾個小時，經過模擬練習後，片中他和塔台對話、和副駕駛溝通都表現專業，讓導演勞勃辛密克斯讚不絕口。
